Our Process
Step 1: Organic Farming
Every product starts with natural proprietary strains of phytocannabinoid-rich hemp. All of the hemp used in our Broad Spectrum THC Free products is grown in nutrient-rich soil in Colorado. Farmers there operate under strict guidelines and use only 100% organic practices.
Our partner takes advantage of a state-of-the-art farming process. Not only does this enhance the quality of our natural proprietary strains, but it also makes sure our products are safe, regulated and unsurpassed in their potency and consistency before arriving on the shelves of our retail store in York, Pa.
Step 2: Raw Hemp Processing
The plants used in our products are dried and warehoused after they are harvested. When a plant is needed for production, it is milled into a coarse powder. The milling process adheres to the highest quality standards in the industry. Once processed, it is shipped to our partners processing and manufacturing facilities.
Step 3: Proprietary Extraction and Solids Separation
Our products use a proprietary hemp extraction and purification process. This makes sure that all of hemp’s beneficial phytocannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids are preserved. It also gets rid of unwanted compounds while preventing natural molecules from degrading. What is the result you ask? The highest quality broad spectrum hemp oil available. So good in fact that it helped Pharma-Free Remedies be named one of the Top 3 Finalists in the 2021 Community Choice Awards “Best of York” in the Health Categories for “Best CBD Store” & the Best Naturals/Supplements/Health Products.
Every drop of our phytocannabinoid-rich (PCR) hemp oil contains 112 cannabinoids, including CBD, CBDA, CBG, CBN, CBC and THCA. You will also find a variety of naturally occurring terpenes and flavonoids. What this means for you is that Pharma-Free Remedies products contain a broad spectrum of beneficial natural compounds.
While CBD on its own offers many health benefits, a growing body of research has found that a broad spectrum product (a product containing other naturally occurring cannabinoids and terpenes derived from hemp) leads to multiplying benefits. This is called the Entourage Effect.
But the process isn’t quite done. Once extracted, the oil is then pressed to separate most of the oil from the plant solids.
Step 4: Distillation
The oil is then distilled to separate the hemp extract from the food-grade ethanol used in the extraction process. In fact, our partner’s facilities are one of only a few in the world that use this food-grade ethanol.
Step 5: THC Removal and Refining
One of the most important steps in the process is to remove even the most minute traces of THC. THC is the compound found in hemp and cannabis that produces the “high” associated with the plant.
Our products are made up of a proprietary technology to remove unwanted compounds still present in the oil. These compounds include wax, chlorophyll, plant pigments and trace amounts of THC. It is then “washed” and “polished” to create the highest quality, zero THC, broad spectrum CBD oil available.
Because our products are 100% THC free, we can ship them across state lines and to most countries around the world.
Step 6: In House and Third-Party Lab Testing
Our products are tested in every production run for quality and potency. This makes sure that all of the cannabinoids, terpenes, essential fatty acids and phytonutrients are consistent and pure.
Every batch goes through rigorous testing in the in-house laboratory of our partners Colorado based facility. When the batch passes, it receives a Certificate of Analysis (or COA) and a Certificate of Quality Assurance that we make available to our customers. We also have third-party labs on a monthly basis verify and confirm the Certificates. You will find QR codes on almost every one of our products that will show these results.
Step 7: Our Proprietary Nanoemulsion Technology
Our premium hemp oil goes through a proprietary process that turns it into water-soluble, nano-sized particles which create better efficacy through much better absorption.
In addition to our nano-emulsion process, we use other proprietary technology to create the water-soluble CBD Powder used in our dog treats. Because your body has difficulty absorbing oil, any water-soluble product that you consume will be more bio-available. This is because our bodies are made up of about 60% water.
What does all of this mean for you? You can use less of the product made with this process to achieve the same level of benefit as the products sold by most of our competitors here in the PA market. We think that’s a reason to celebrate.
USADA Organic Certifying agencies have yet to certify any companies water-soluble CBD. But that’s okay…we’re ready for it once they start!
